What it is
A project is where you build your company’s customer service in Caramelo AI: agents, conversations, CRM and integrations. A service account can have several projects. It’s common to create one for each client, brand or department.
1. When to use
- To create your first project and start setting up your agent;
- To open an existing project and pick up where you left off;
- To check the account’s plan, credits and next billing date.
2. Where to find it
On the Service Accounts screen, click the account’s card (see Service Accounts). The screen that opens shows the account’s Projects and a summary of its subscription.
To open an existing project, click its card. If the account has no projects yet, you’ll see the message “Oops! No projects found.” with the Register button.
3. Creating a project
- Click Register.
- Fill in the fields:
- Project Type: leave it as Standard. This choice can’t be changed later;
- Project Name: the name that will show up in your list, like
Downtown StoreorSales Team; - Generate from Text, Use Website or From Scratch: how the agent will be created (see the table below);
- Time Zone: used to compare dates and times, such as your business hours.
- Click Next.
| Option | What happens |
|---|---|
| Generate from Text | You describe what the company does, who it serves and how it communicates. The platform uses that text to set up the agent. |
| Use Website | You enter your website address, choose which pages to use and the platform reads the content to set up the agent. |
| From Scratch | The agent is created with default settings, and you adjust everything later. |
After you click Next, the platform prepares the project and opens the Chatbot Setup, a step-by-step guide to get your first agent ready. If you chose to generate from text or from your website, this can take a few moments.
💡 Tip: you don’t need to get everything right now. Whatever the platform generates can be adjusted later in the agent’s Personality tab.
4. Account summary
The projects screen also shows a summary of the account:
| Item | What it means |
|---|---|
| Subscription | The plan you’re subscribed to. |
| Credits | The balance available in the account, in Brazilian reais. |
| Status | The account’s situation, like Active or Overdue. |
| Current period | The start and end dates of the current subscription period. |
| Next billing | The date of the next charge. On the free plan, it’s replaced by Resources reset on, the date when the plan limits are renewed. |
Right below are the shortcuts to manage the account, like Team, Subscription and Invoices. Which shortcuts you see depends on your access profile.
⚠️ Heads up: if the credits run out or there’s an overdue invoice, a red notice shows up in the account summary. The invoice notice has a direct link to Invoices.
5. Frequently asked questions
Why do I see "No projects found"?
Because the account doesn't have any projects yet. Click Register to create the first one.
I don't see the Register button. Why?
Your profile doesn't have permission to create projects in this account. Ask an account administrator to create the project or to adjust your access.
Can I change the Project Type later?
No. That's why you should leave it as Standard when creating the project.
Which option should I choose to create the agent?
If the company has a website with good information, Use Website is usually the fastest way. If it doesn't, describe the business in Generate from Text. From Scratch is for those who prefer to fill everything in by hand.
Where do I see my credit balance and the next billing date?
In the account summary, on the projects screen, under Credits and Next billing.
